Quilt and LL

I forgot to mention that I also bought the Anthropologie rosette quilt I've been eyeing for literally years! I hadn't seen it in this blue before though, and I love the shade!

I'll post up a picture of my actual bed with it once it's done. The above picture is just from Anthro's site.

Also, I wanted to mention that one of my favorite wedding presents was my first Lindsay Long piece! I got this jacket from the designer herself (who was also one of my bridesmaids) and it is absolutely amazing:

It's lined in silk and feels like cream on the skin. It is incredibly well made and fits perfectly.
She also gave me one of her belts in the Reed shade below. These belts are made from salmon skin! How cool is that?

One of my favorite dresses of hers is this one below. It'll definitely be the next Lindsay Long piece I buy. You can purchase these items and more here: http://www.lindsaylong.co/ I've seen all of her clothes in person and can assure you that they are all incredibly well made. She is very meticulous in picking the perfect fabrics for all of her clothes and accessories, and her perfectionism shows through in everything with a Lindsay Long tag!

Newsprint Wallpaper

I've been sick for the past week, and thus completely unproductive. However, I've set the entryway as my goal for February. In the meantime, I ordered the second media cabinet for the other side of the TV so that should come in within the next week or so. The side table for the living room has been on backorder since November, but should be delivered toward the beginning of February as well so if all goes according to plan, I'll get more redecorating done next month. I'm thinking about getting this wallpaper for the entryway:

So one wall will be in chalkboard paint and the other side as well as the wall around the main door will be this newsprint. I ordered a sample of this wallpaper so if I like it, I'm going to immediately order it!

Here's another picture of the entryway in it's current state:

So the chalkboard paint will be on the left side where it's mostly empty.

Then this other side will be in newsprint wallpaper. All of those picture frames will also be emptied out and I want to spraypaint them in a green shade similar to the color below as the accent color. I also want to either get a new green chair or just paint one of my existing chairs green for that room. I'll probably move the hatrack to the other side and also paint it green.

I also want to get a black and white runner rug for the entryway. Perhaps something like these below.

Vintage hair

I've been thinking about hair lately because I find that having short hair really seems to limit my options. However, I think with my current haircut, I could style it in such a way to looks very 1920s. It just seems like so much work. I'd like to say I miss the days when people really put in the effort for a well-coiffed look whenever they went out, but I was never alive during those times. I tried curling my hair the other night, but only half-heartedly. I was watching TV and using my MacBook photobooth as my mirror. If actually tried, I think it could look much better:

I love how perfectly place each curl is:

This is a photo from http://www.bhldn.com/. I like that it's vintage inspired, but still looks modern.

I love her style. Very few women (or men) can pull of this pompadour and it looks great with her face. I think her style is brilliant. She generally only wears black and white tuxedo inspired outfits, and its genius because she'll always looks classy and classic, but still has so many options to play around with within the tuxedo type.

Well this is just so chic.

I watched the Golden Globes, well part of it because it was just a bit too unprofessional and poorly produced to sit through the entire show, and very few people's attire choices caught my eye. The only people I can think of were:

Excess Accessories, Etcetera.

I also wanted to show some photos of the packaging from our photographer (http://laciehansen.com/). I loved the way it looked and the personal touches.

The box.

Personalized note inside the box.

The package inside the box. She included a typewritten nametag an a skeleton key just
like the place cards at our wedding.

A personalized disc holder with our photos on the front and back.

On another note, I went to Anthroplogie in Beverly Hills to exchange a dress. I tried on this pairing, which I though was absolutely adorable. Sadly, baby doll shirts just don't fit well with my body type. I think it only looks good on small chested individuals because otherwise it creates an unattractive pregnant look. I love the large floral print with the more uniform smaller patterns on the pants. A close-up of the two patterns below.

I also bought this knit skirt, which I love because it looks so very French to me. I have a red knit halter with thin navy stripes at the bottom that would go perfectly.

I'm debating getting this 2-tray set for the cart coffee table in the living room. I don't know if it's too kitschy or fake looking though.

I took this awhile ago and just forgot to post it up. It fits with this post though. Despite that fact that it's pretty kitschy, I really like my iPhone 4S cassette tape case and old school telephone headphone. The headphone is great because it provides distance from the ear to the cell phone so as to reduce cancer risk, and there's a button in the middle of the phone piece that allows you to pick up the call without digging for your cell in a purse. It's quite handy if you're like me and carry large purses in which the cell phone gets easily lost. When you're not on a call, you can also listen to music or any other audio on the phone piece.

I recreated the nails I had for my wedding day, which is black nails with large sparkle glitter nail polish on the ring finger. The bridesmaids all had white nails with the glitter polish on their ring fingers as well.
